Vinted Shoppers Express Frustration Regarding Sizing Modifications
Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing.
The second-hand shopping app has altered its size classifications for women's and children's clothes but did not contact all users about the change.
Online Platforms Reaction
Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a different size category versus the original listing because of the remapping.
The company said the updated approach better aligns with other platforms.
They have suggested members to examine their items and update the measurements by hand when needed, resulting in member annoyance.
Measurement Approach Updates
Earlier, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10.
The revised method features a letter and a range for example S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.
Shopper Accounts
Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
Another user, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she stated.
Required Changes
A different user, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products".
"This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she stated.
Marketplace Information
The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK.
It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: last year, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
