Soccer Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning run was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, however will the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, against AI, fans and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Family Life

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their weekend football side," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.

West Ham's only on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.

My son advised me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

Fulham have got plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.

But I am not do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home form, the sole team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but Fulham have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
