Jet Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
A jet ferrying Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the aircraft's cockpit window, as stated by an official statement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The aircraft landed based on standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, among them Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," an official representative commented in a social media post.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to Brussels during the flight.
This incident isn't the first time that a American defense plane carrying a senior official has suffered mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying the US Secretary of State to Munich was required to turn back to the US capital after encountering a technical issue.
