Beautiful weather, classic snacks and legendary venues - what else would an England cricket fan possibly want?

Well, perhaps an Ashes series in Australia where they retain a possibility to win back the Ashes once the opening games are done.

Unfortunately, this scenario is off the table on this occasion, however, after a comprehensive triumph in Adelaide put the hosts with a 3-0 lead for the fourth successive Ashes series on Australian grounds.

The loyal traveling fans, the organized fan base, have a large group flying out for the final two Tests in New South Wales and Victoria.

In addition, there are travel parties who will celebrate the holidays overseas, as well as relatives and companions planning a dream holiday.

Fans with Booked Tickets

A group of four supporters are four such fans.

Alex, Sam, Rory and Katie had their itineraries and entry credentials arranged for the fourth and fifth Tests "a full year in advance", dreaming of a rare England series success.

Sadly, they've observed Australia dismantle the tourists in just a short period from their family home in Penwortham, Lancashire.

"All my colleagues has been teasing me regarding the concluded contest for the last two weeks," commented one sibling.

"We always thought that we would have a meaningful contest by the time we arrived."

Diminishing Hope

Hope was abundant regarding the team's prospects of securing a first win in 15 years for a series win in Australia before it began.

But they are now looking at the possibility of extending their winless run in the country to 19 games when the next match starts in Melbourne this week.

The England team - and their supporters - will be hoping to sidestep a whitewash.

One sibling noted the "thrill and enjoyment" of head coach Brendon McCullum's 'Bazball' in recent times had "renewed interest in" the five-day game for followers of the team.

But the Ryding siblings said they had low expectations for the remaining matches - and all they are hoping for from the players is "a show of spirit".

"Commentators consistently points it out, but it all comes down to psychological strength. 'Bazball' has been become a phrase now that is just, like, nonsense cricket," stated Rory Ryding.

"Over the course of five days, you should dig in. Wafting outside 'wide of off stump has not been part of the fundamentals, and that is primarily due to the batting lineup."

The Remaining Matches

When questioned if he believed England will triumph in a Test in the current series, Sam said: "It appears the hosts are a stronger side currently."

"Necessarily, there must be several individuals that delivers for the team and produces a match-winning display."

Regardless of the result, the siblings are still anticipating the trip.

"It will be a wonderful trip regardless," added another sibling. "We have to go with that attitude."

"Naturally, it's disappointing we aren't fighting for more, but we have spent so much money as it is."

"We plan to savor celebrating the holidays out there. It is also a new experience for us away from home over Christmas."

An educator, Katie is focused on enjoying the long-haul travel as part of her Christmas holidays.

"Should the cricket disappoint, I've got golf to turn to," she finished.
