Boxer Joseph Parker Confronts Imminent Suspension Due to Failed Doping Test
The New Zealand heavyweight tested positive as part of a drugs test carried out the very day of his 11th-round defeat against British heavyweight Fabio Wardley.

A routine test administered to the boxer by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency on the day of the bout returned positive and leaves the 36-year-old with a battle to demonstrate his cleanliness.
His promotion team issued an announcement stating: "The anti-doping body alerted all relevant parties that Joseph Parker returned an adverse finding subsequent to a drug screening conducted on the fight day. While the matter is investigated, no further statements are forthcoming for now."

Parker became world champion in 2016 before he was defeated for his WBO belt via unanimous decision against Anthony Joshua in Wales two years later.
