Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday night. The fighter was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”
His release from the hospital follows the boxing community offered condolences for the champion in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
